Alamogordo Homeowners...
Welcome to my site. (The (Slightly) Retired Carpenter) I
created this page to try to start my own Handyman & Property
maintenance business here in Alamogordo. So if that's what you
were looking for when you found my site. You should take a look around. The page, my services, offers an overview of the types of services I offer. On the
page, Who is the (Slightly) Retired Carpenter, you can find out more about me. To really
get a good idea of the full range of my services you should check out my Skills page where
I have listed the skills I've learned in my career in construction. If you have a repair,
or project, and are interested in having me take care of it for you, just contact me and
we'll hammer out the details. Now that that's out of the way, I'll explain the purpose of
this particular page on my site. I have 3 services I'm promoting with this page. Con-
sultation, Custom Designs, & Pet Projects....

A Perfect Place
A Homeowners Dream ~ Pet Projects to create the perfect space.

In this day and age of DIY television everyone knows that one of the best ways to get the most for your money
when renovating your home is to simply Do It Yourself. For professionals in the construction fields or someone
who did so in the past for a few years, or who have acquired some knowledge and skills some other way DIY is a
definite possibility allowing them to complete simple to complex projects at a substantial savings compared to
using a contractor. For others, such as those unable to do it themselves and cash in on the DIY savings, the
cost of their pet project could delay or even quash the creation of their vision.
For those of you who fall into the second category I offer three services that can let you take advantage of at least some of the savings you get from doing it yourself. How much you would save depends on the amount of help you'd need to complete your pet project and create your perfect space.
1. For those just seeking a little help a consultation might be in order. For a set fee determined
by the size and scope of the project. I will sit down with you while you explain your project to me
in detail, taking notes & making some rough sketches. Once I have it clear in my mind what you want I will tell you if I think what you have in is feasible, anything I can see becoming an issue as well of anything other thoughts I have about your project off the top of my head and schedule a follow up
face to face where I will present you a consultation report.
I will create this report from my notes, sketches, research, pricing, etc... In its final form
it will contain the following: An overall assessment of the project.; A rough estimate of its' cost.;
Any problems I can foresee, possible solutions, and how these solutions affect the estimate.; A det-
ailed Project Plan outlining all phases of the project. Any recomendations I have, such as the phases
that you'll be required to have a licensed individual perform, parts of the project you'd be wise to sub-contract out for whatever reason, or information about equipment you might have to rent etc...; A
difficulty assessment based on the physical and technical requirements.; A summary containing the
relevant points throughout, along with any final recomendations, reservations, & comments I have.
At the follow up I will present you with the report, answer any questions, & give you any other
information or thoughts generated as I created the report. Explain the other two services I offer,
explaining their costs and returns. After we've finished you'll have a rough price estimate & an
overall all idea what each phase of the project entails.
